PDAs...

So, I already have my Palm Pre and my iPod Touch that I carry around with medical references on them. The number of books I take to my clinicals sites seems to increase and I switch out books based on the site that day. Sadly, I started shopping on eBay again and was looking at PDAs. Now, my boyfriend says I already carry around my iPod and cell which is excessive, but I argue another little electronic device I can throw in my pocket is a lot easier to lug around than all those book. Anyway, I came across a few PDAs that I liked including the Palm TX. It has WiFi, microphoone, Bluetooth, internet browsing, MP3 and video players, speakers, a headphone jack, memory expansion slot, some stuff that hopefully means good things, and sounded really great. Then I noticed some of them had nursing and medical software you could get with them. There was a nursing one, a medical/nursing one, and a medical student/physician one; each one had over 130 reference guides (each listed). Almost every single one of the pocket references I carry seemed to be there. Plus, the seller, jks0414, is top-rated and the feedback great.

Yes, I do love my iPod Touch (and the iPhone saved the guys life in Haiti...), but this is such a great deal and Palm does still have more medical resources available. So, it took some time to put in the serial numbers but it's worth it. I'm not always sure what all the program names are looking at the menu, but it's no big deal to back to the menu. The PDA itself came with a charger, USB cable, installation disc, screen protector, and car charger. Additionally, you might want some sort of case and a dock. I think this was a great investment. Easier to carry than a bunch of reference book, you can add your own notes within each program, you can search easier than looking through an index, there are always more programs to add, there are games, most hospitals have Wifi, and so much more. I do enjoy the pen too. Not to mention, you feel more important.
